How to monitor and fix an automation

Review flow runs, find the step that failed and correct it without losing context.

Before you start

  • Deactivate the automation before changing a condition or action that may affect new runs.

Step by step

    Open the automation

    In the Automations list, select Open on the flow you want to review.

    Status and run totals help you choose the correct flow.

    Review its runs

    Open the history and filter failed or pending runs. Select one run to view its complete path.

  3. 3

    Find the first failed step

    Read the message on the first incomplete block. Check the incoming data and that block configuration.

  4. 4

    Fix and test again

    Change only the required condition or action, save and run a new test. Reactivate the flow when the full path works.

If something does not work as expected

There are no runs in the history.

Confirm that the automation was active and that its trigger occurred. Review its entry conditions as well.

A connection used by an action stopped working.

Open Settings and Connections, authorize the service again and repeat the automation test.
